This is Francis…He is eight or nine I belive. He doesn’t speak a lot of English. He has been at Transition House(TH which is one of the boys homes) for a week now. Praise Jesus that we were finally able to move him from his abusive home!
We climbed up a the rocky hill that is right behind TH last Saturday night.

Yes, we did play frisbee on the top!

This is us after church. The clothes are very hot so Kate already took her headtie off. This is Kate, Me, Susan, and Erin.
Good news! I have running water in my bathroom. Last Friday, we heard gunshots…the bank was being robbed…yay Nigeria!
So I haven’t written a lot because I haven’t known exactly what to say. I have really just been visiting several of the different care centers for the last week. I also went today to the Blyth’s. They are missionaries here and foster parents. Their boy, Luke, who is 8 years old is very behind in school, and they have had a lot of trouble trying to school him. I may be trying to help them out a couple of days a week. Today, I realized even more that his problem is attitude! Oh wow! I would have never gotten away with that as a kid. I am learning a lot. Right now, I am really struggling as to find my place here, that is where God wants me to serve and how I can do that well. It’s kind of a free for all as to what I want to do, but that makes it difficult because there is very little guidance and structure for me to fall into. I think over the next couple days I am going to meet with the leaders at the different care centers and talk to them. Anyway, please be praying for me that I will find my group of kids and my ministry here.
Tomorrow morning I am going exploring!

Lauren! It’s great to hear from you! The children in your pictures are precious and praise the Lord for guiding them to the Transition House!
PS. Is that a picture (the fifth one) of the skirt you made, cause I have to admit, its pretty nifty.
Things look great for you Lauren. Persevere!
lauren….sorry I have been so behind on the updates (but you know the circumstance)…..thanks for posting pictures, its great to see their faces and yours.
will pray for a specific ministry…He is faithful. Keep pressing on.
love you sister.
Great pictures! Did you ever think you’d be so grateful for such a simple thing as running water!
Wait on the Lord, Lauren. I know that is a tough task. But He will reveal His way in His time. -Dick
